  72. INSTALLING & REGISTERING INTELLIHANCE

  74. The following file is installed into your plug-ins folder:
  75.      Intellihance 3.0

  77. An Intellihance folder is installed on your startup disk.  This folder contains sample images and other supporting files.
  78.  
  79. During the launch of Intellihance, you will be requested to serialize and register the software. Please enter the serial number located on the back of the manual. If you do not have a serial number, you can choose to run Intellihance in demo mode.  The Demo mode allows full functionality for 5 uses each application session, up to 30 uses total.

  81. Please register using one of the built-in electronic registration methods. If you do not have a modem, fax/modem, or printer, you may fill out the registration card in the back of the manual.

  83. GENERAL NOTES
  84. ------------------------
  85. 1) Microtek scanners may interfere with the built-in electronic registration process. If you are using a Microtek scanner, please turn it off before attempting to register Intellihance. You may turn the scanner back on once the registration process is complete.

  87. 2) As you use Intellihance, please note that some effects (sharpening, brightness, saturation) work in combination when they are turned on together.  If you are not seeing the desired results with Intellihance, start by turning off all but one or two settings.  Add each setting one at a time and adjust the level of the settings as you go.

  89. 3) In order to see an accurate representation of descreening results you will need to preview your image at 100%.  Any other zoom setting will display too much or too little blurring.

  91. 4) In order for Auto Descreen to work effectively, Intellihance needs a large enough sample of the image in order to do its calculations.  If you are running Intellihance on small selections or images, you may note that Auto Descreening does not work.  Manual descreening settings can still be used on smaller selections.

  93. 5) If you want to speed up overall processing and preview performance on CMYK images, turn off the automatic cast removal options in the Preference area.

  95. 6) When using Intellihance in PhotoDeluxe, you will need to turn on Long Menus in order to get access to Intellihance. Go to the File menu and choose Long Menus.

  97. 7) In order to speed up panning and zooming, Intellihance will switch to the original image preview when panning and zooming are used.

  99. 8) If you have previously used Intellihance, Photoshop 4.0 actions that you have already recorded may no longer work. To update your actions to work with Intellihance 3.0, please do the following:
  100.     a. turn off the Actions palette button mode
  101.     b. expand the action containing Intellihance
  102.     c. select the line containing the old Intellihance command
  103.     d. choose the "Insert Menu Item..." command in the Actions palette menu
  104.     e. select Intellihance 3.0 from the Filters|Extensis menu
  105.     f. click the OK button
  106.     g. delete the line containing the old Intellihance command (the first of the two Intellihance commands)
